A WOMAN has lost her entire hand after melting it off in a freak hairdryer accident.
Mary Wilson passed out on her bedroom floor as she was drying her hair and woke up 20 minutes later to see one of her hands completely mangled.

Mary, a dog groomer from South Carolina in the US, suffered severe nerve damage in her hand and wrist and needed to get it urgently amputated.
Horrified doctors heard that Mary was drying her hair before she claims the appliance gave her an electric shock causing her to pass out.
Completely out cold, the dog groomer spent the next 20 minutes with the scorching dryer placed directly over her hand.
The incredible heat quickly got to work and left Mary with a gruesome injury.

She was only woken up by her partner who went to check on her in their James Island home.
Mary said she was abruptly woke up to screams of "your hand, your hand".

The blow dryer didn't have an automatic off system in place like other types meaning the temperature stayed at a high heat throughout the terrifying ordeal.
The horrific accident happened on February 7, according to 15 News.

After having surgery and spending the next month wrapped up safely in bandages Mary said: “I look at my hand. I don’t even register that’s a part of me.
"It doesn’t even look recognizable.
“The biggest thing is not being able to do the simple things I want to do, or things take so much longer.”

Mary has been recovering back home since the freak accident but is now scared her amputation could spell the end of her career with her loveable animals.
She told WSFA: “It really kind of puts in perspective all the other issues that I was dealing with in my life six months ago are so insignificant to things that I’m having to go through now, or challenges that I’m going to have to be going through in the future."
But Mary is now awaiting the next steps towards regaining a sense of normality as she is due to get a prosthetic hand soon.
The hopeful lady continued: “I’m still going to live my life to the fullest. It’s just a hand. What is this, 10% of my body?
"Losing my hand may be something that changes who I am, but that doesn’t mean that it defines me on everything."
A local restaurant, the Bohemian Bull, has also announced plans to donate a big chunk of cash to Mary to help with her recovery.
Wilson has called the support she has received “incredible".
It comes as a baby was left blinded and covered in horrific burns to her head and neck after a similar freak accident.
Sienna Robbins was sleeping on her parents' double bed when she rolled onto the floor and unfortunately managed to turn on the dryer that was laying nearby.
The hot blast from the hairdryer caused second and third-degree burns that required urgent surgery.
Her eyes were also swollen shut, leaving her blind for three days.
