Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has revealed that she feared getting her breast implants removed would knock her confidence.

The actress reflected on having her implants removed as she discussed her character Chas Dingle, who recently devastated her family when she revealed to them that she has breast cancer.

Chas discovers the cause of her cancer is the faulty BRCA2 gene, which means there’s a possibility that her children and siblings could also have the gene.

Speaking about her current storyline, former I’m A Celebrity star Lucy discussed her own DD breast implant removal, which took place after her health took a turn in 2019.

‘Checking my breasts is so much easier now,’ Lucy told OK!

‘Before I couldn’t check what was behind the implants, now I have my tiny little French t**s, as I call them, it’s so much easier. Recently, I went with a friend to have their breasts checked and actually learnt how to do it properly.’

She added: ‘I was fearful about having them removed, and about how I’d feel about my body after but that has never come to fruition.couldn’t feel more confident. I don’t have to wear a bra anymore, it’s amazing.’

The Emmerdale star suffered from breast implant illness but reckons that she still would’ve still got them done regardless, admitting that she ‘had a lot of fun with them’.

Lucy previously appeared on Channel 4’s documentary Dispatches, which investigated the possible negative side of breast implants by chatting to women who claim they made them ill.

In recent episodes, Chas makes the life-changing decision to get ahead of her cancer.

Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) attends with her where she reveals she wants to have a double mastectomy.

It’s a drastic move but one that could ensure her future. She seems strong and resolute, but later the emotions hit her in a moment where she reveals she is truly terrified.

Seeing her fear written all over face, Aaron relents and requests a referral to get the gene test.
