Interstate 25 reopened south of Colorado Springs on Tuesday morning after a crash closed both sides of the interstate overnight, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred between Colo. 16/Mesa Ridge Parkway and exit 135 for South Academy Boulevard in Fountain just after 7 p.m., according to the agency and the Colorado State Patrol. CDOT reported the interstate reopening just before 6 a.m. Tuesday.

At least one person was taken to a local hospital and an extended closure was expected, said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer Monday evening. The number of vehicles involved in the crash was not immediately available.
