THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WOOD) — Two suspects who police say robbed a Three Rivers bank are in custody after fleeing to Indiana.

The robbery happened just before 11 a.m. at a bank on N. Main Street near Moore Avenue. By the time officers arrived, the two robbers had taken off. It’s not clear how much money they got away with.

The two men were caught on surveillance cameras and a K-9 tracked them to a nearby parking lot, where police said the robbers got into a vehicle. Police identified the vehicle and used its automated license plate reader system to track the suspect across state lines, into Indiana.

Indiana police agencies helped Three Rivers police identify the bank robbery suspects. They are in custody on charges that are not related to the bank robbery in Three Rivers, police say. Police did not release the names of the men.

The Three Rivers Police Department is working with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor to issue charges.
