BOUTTE, La. (WGNO) — Three people were arrested following a drug and gun bust in Boutte on Wednesday, March 27.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies searched a home on Boutte Estates Drive during early morning hours.

During the search, St. Charles Parish deputies said they recovered about 363 grams of synthetic marijuana, about 92 grams of marijuana, three guns and $23,269 in U.S. currency.

Deputies said 31-year-old Garrod Simmons, 37-year-old Keishon Turley and 38-year-old Terrance Smith were arrested in connection with the investigation.

Simmons faces two counts of distribution of a Schedule 1 counterfeit narcotic, possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule 1 CDS (marijuana), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS, seven counts of possession of CDS in the presence of minors and transactions involving proceeds from CDS sales.

Turley faces a charge of possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule 1 CDS (marijuana).

Smith faces a charge of possession of marijuana.
