UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - An early morning police chase involving Shaker Heights officers ended in a crash in front of a University Heights home.

This happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Meadowbrook Blvd. and Eaton Road.

After the crash, Shaker Heights police said the driver of the KIA Soul fled the scene.

According to Shaker Heights, officers spotted the stolen Kia and attempted to pull over the driver, because it was the same vehicle involved in a shooting earlier this month.

Around 11:15 p.m. on March 20, occupants of that Kia fired two rounds into a vehicle in the 14000 block of Onaway Rd.

A 34-year-old woman and her 32-year-old sister were sitting in the vehicle. They were not injured, but the bullets caused damage to the rear, passenger’s side tire and rear passenger’s side window.

The Kia was stolen out of Cleveland in the early morning hours of March 20, said Shaker Heights police.
