Owasso's Jalen Montonati and Union's Rudy Garcia were the major 6A-3 award winners in voting by the district's boys basketball coaches announced Wednesday.
Montonati, a sophomore, was named the player of the year as he averaged 24 points to lead the Rams to their first-ever state title.
Garcia, in his 29th season at Union, was named coach of the year after guiding the Redhawks to a 24-3 record, and district, regional and area titles plus a No. 1 ranking going into the state tournament.
Owasso and Union had two players each on the 6A-3 first team.
