A teacher and coach in Whitley County has been arrested on a dozen child sex-related charges.

The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Lioney A. Henriquez, of Corbin, 39, and charged him with nine counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor under the age of 18, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and procuring or promoting the use of a minor by an electronic means

The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began its investigation into Henriquez after receiving a complaint that the suspect was having an inappropriate relationship with two minors.

Henriquez, who has since resigned, was a P.E. teacher at Whitley County High School and a baseball coach at Whitely County Middle School.

Henriquez’s arrest citation, according to the Times-Tribune, says that the suspect “admitted sending and receiving nude photographs to and from the students; he also admitted to touching them inappropriately at school.”

The students were 16- and 17-years-old.

Henriquez was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
