TEMPE -- The Arizona Cardinals know business is business.

Such is life in the NFL - but especially when you're going through a rebuild with a brand new front office and coaching staff. The Cardinals went 4-13 just one year removed from a postseason appearance, and some notable names have left between then and now.

There's been some prominent ones, but few players match the caliber of DeAndre Hopkins, who found himself in trade rumors through the entire offseason before ultimately being released late last week.

It was a somewhat stunning move around the league considering Hopkins' caliber, but no team was willing to meet either Arizona's asking price or his $19.45 million salary.

Now - Hopkins is free to join any team he likes - and the Cardinals aren't too worried about that.

"All the factors that were in play, we just felt that it was the best thing for the team to play with who we have," said Gannon.

"It's really no big deal to me. We were operating under the premise that he was going to be here and now we're not so we're moving on."

Now, the Cardinals' depth chart touts names such as Marquise Brown, Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, Michael Wilson and Zach Pascal among others. Gannon said the room is doing well in the early days of OTA's.

"I'm very pleased with our receivers right now," said Gannon.

"We talk about with our guys is if you carve out a role for yourself, we'll use you in that role. I like how they're working and I like how they're improving with the details of their position. Get open and catch the ball is the major thing but I like what they're doing in the run and pass game."
