One dead, two injured in Vance Street shooting

GREENSBORO, N.C. — UPDATE: Police say 71 year-old victim Robert Franklin Wright died at the scene. His wife was hospitalized with a non life-threatening injury. The third victim, the Wright's grandchild, is also hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Police are working to find a possible motive for this homicide. This is Greensboro's 11th homicide of 2024.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Greensboro Police were called to a reported shooting on Vance Street. Officers found three gunshot victims, with two of them having life threatening injuries.

Police say this investigation remains ongoing. No additional information is available.
