An Owosso man was arrested Tuesday following a vehicle pursuit in Shiawassee County.

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) - An Owosso man was arrested Tuesday following a vehicle pursuit in Shiawassee County.

According to the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was wanted for his alleged involvement in multiple breaking and entering home invasion complaints and for violating his parole. Deputies say they recognized the suspect traveling north on Byron Road through Byron by his description and his silver GMC Sierra truck.

The suspect did not stop when police tried to pull the suspect over. The pursuit began going north on Byron Road to west on Lansing Road. The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed into the M71/I69 overpass bridge.

The suspect could then be seen waving a claw hammer in a "threatening" manner, according to police. The suspect crawled out the rear window and attempted to jump into oncoming traffic along I-69. Deputies pulled the man off the barrier and were able to place in under arrest.

The suspect was taken to the Shiawassee County Jail and is facing multiple felony charges.

The suspect and the involved deputies reported only minor injuries.

The suspect's identity has not been released.
