Game recap: Indiana basketball loses big to Nebraska in Big Ten tournament quarterfinals

The Indiana men's basketball team is coming off a 61-59 win over Penn State in the second round of the Big Ten tournament and will face No. 3 Nebraska tonight.

According to BetMGM, the Hoosiers are a 5.5-point underdog against the Cornhuskers (22-9, 12-8 Big Ten). During the regular season, Nebraska beat IU twice. However, Indiana is riding a five-game win streak.

Final: Nebraska cruises to a Big Ten tournament win over Indiana

This one got away from the Hoosiers early on. Mackenzie Mgbako was the only IU starter to score in double figures (16 points). CJ Gunn came off the bench to lead IU with 17 points. Indiana shot 35% from the floor while Nebraska shot 50%. The Cornhuskers were 14 for 32 from the 3-point line.

Nebraska isn't lighting it up from beyond the arc like it did in the first half, but the Cornhuskers still have 13 3s in the game. IU on the other hand is 3 for 13.

Indiana has outscored Nebraska in the second half, 13-12, but the Hoosiers will have to catch on fire sooner than later if they hope to make a comeback.

The Cornhuskers are 12 of 20 from the 3-point line. Keisei Tominaga made back-to-back 3-pointers to give Nebraska a 39-27 lead. Jamarques Lawrence and Juwan Gary also made 3s for Nebraska. Tominaga hit a 3 at the buzzer. He has 18 points.

IU led 17-16 but Nebraska went on an 11-0 run to distance itself a little. Anthony Leal has an ankle injury and got it re-taped. He was jumping up and down on the sideline.

Brice Williams, like he did early, hit back-to-back 3-pointers. Williams already has 14 points. At the 4:52 mark, Mackenzie Mgbako made three free throws to cut the Cornhuskers' lead to 31-24.

IU is shooting 35% while Nebraska is at 42%.

Nebraska's Brice Williams started the game with consecutive 3-pointers. Malik Reneau scored the Hoosiers' first 5 points.
