Cheyenne Mountain Zoo remains a fan favorite, having made the USA Today 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards list for the eighth consecutive year.Â
The zoo announced today that the annual ranking list for 2024 places Cheyenne Mountain Zoo as the fifth best zoo in North America. Additionally, the zoo's Rocky Mountain Wild exhibit was ranked the second-best zoo exhibit in North America.Â
Earlier this month the zoo announced that its Quarters for Conservation program had succeeded in raising more than $5 million in conservation funding.Â
The Rocky Mountain Wild exhibit, which opened in 2008, sits high on the mountain slope in the zoo. The exhibit houses a pack of endangered Mexican wolves, Canada lynx, an Alaska moose, bald eagle, two grizzly bears, three mountain lions and four river otters, according to the zoo's announcement.Â
"Rocky Mountain Wild is known for its expansive natural exhibits, exquisite views, and enthusiastic and passionate team of animal keepers," states the announcement.Â
The exhibit has been nominated in the Best Zoo Exhibit category eight times previously.
A group of travel experts recruited by USA Today selected 20 North American Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited zoos and exhibits and online voters chose from that group.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has also been featured in Trip Advisor's top 10, and USA Today's zoo lights "best of" lists.Â
