A Triad man is in custody and facing several charges after running from law enforcement while armed, according to deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.On Wednesday, Randolph County deputies were called to Waddell’s Ferry Road Ext. in Seagrove, about someone who was armed. When they arrived, they saw the suspect, Wesley Hussey, armed with a rifle. When deputies started coming up the driveway, Hussey ran into nearby woods. Hussey was eventually located, hiding in a cove, on the edge of the river, under fallen trees.Randolph County EMS responded to evaluate him due to the time he was in extremely cold water. During a search, deputies found ammunition in his possession. Hussey is a convicted felon and is not allowed to be on the property where the incident occurred.Watch: NOWCAST streaming newscastsHussey was arrested and taken into custody at the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation and misdemeanor resisting public officer. No bond was given due to the protective order violation. He was served while still in custody at the Randolph County Detention Center.
