Two British Airways flight attendants have lost their jobs for mocking Asian passengers, an airline spokesperson told Business Insider in a statement.

The Sun first reported that Holly Walton and Lauren Bray were fired on Monday.

It came after a TikTok user posted a recording of an Instagram story that has reached one million views. The clip is dated from 2022 but was posted five days ago.

It shows Walton making a racist gesture, and appearing to imitate a Chinese accent, saying the phrase: "Give me wine."

The newspaper reported the video was filmed between flights while Bray and Walton had drinks at a hotel on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean.

Airline coworkers told The Sun they were mocking a Chinese family who spoke little English on a British Airways flight from London.

"These two women were deliberately laughing at a family who struggled to make themselves understood on a busy flight. This sends out the worst message possible," a BA staffer born in Asia told The Sun.

The pair were fired when coworkers complained to management after seeing the TikTok, per The Sun.

It reported Walton was ordered to fly home as a passenger from Cancún, Mexico in the middle of a roundtrip for the airline.

"All forms of racism are completely unacceptable, and we take allegations of this nature very seriously," a British Airways spokesperson told BI. "These two individuals are no longer employed by us."

A friend of Bray told the Daily Mail that she is appealing against her dismissal.

She added that Bray had been with the airline for six years, and Walton had worked for BA for 10 years.
