In baseball

Fisher 22, Unity Christian 1. Peyton Sapp had four hits and three RBI and Drayton Lutz had four hits and four runs scored as Fisher cruised in a four-inning win on Tuesday. Jacob Chittick threw all four innings for the Bunnies and allowed three hits and one run (unearned) while finishing with eight strikeouts, as well.

Hoopeston Area 12, Paris 1. Ryker Small powered the Cornjerkers with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, which included a home run, and saw him finish with five RBI. Wyatt Eisenmann (2-4, two doubles) and Cole Miller (2-2, home run, two RBI) also chipped in in the win, while Ethan Steiner struck out 12 batters in a dominant start on the mound.

Mahomet-Seymour 13, Clinton 2. Camden Heinold (3 for 4, two runs) produced three RBI, while Cade Starrick, Matt Orr and Nolan Johnson had two RBI apiece. Finn Randolph struck out eight batters in four innings and had one run against on six hits.

Oakwood 11, Danville 0. Derek Drews (3 for 3, two runs, three RBI) and Alec Harrison (2 for 3, two runs) led the way at the plate, while Chase Harrison was dominant on the mound with the Vikings only mustering one hit and one walk and Harrison netting eight strikeouts.

St. Thomas More 8, Centennial 3. Hayden Bates had two hits and two RBI, Jimmy Henderson delivered three hits and drove in one run and the Sabers collected the victory against the Chargers on Tuesday. Dylan Keene (two hits, two RBI) led Centennial in the loss.

St. Joseph-Ogden 18, Tuscola 2. Tanner Jacob and Nolan Earley starred at the plate, and the Spartans earned the commanding victory on Tuesday. Earley (2 for 3, two runs, four RBI) and Jacob (1 for 3, three RBI) keyed SJ-O, which also had Trevor Ames put up three scoreless innings in the win.

Unity 7, Westville 6. Tyler Henry (2-3), Brock Suding (1-3, one RBI), Emmerson Bailey (1-2, one RBI) and Nolan Remole (1-3, one RBI) emerged for the Rockets. Drew Wichtowski (3-4, home run, one RBI) and Alec Davis (2-3, one RBI) were the top players for the Tigers.

In softball

LeRoy 6, Champaign Central 1. Emily Mennenga drove in two runs and went 2 for 3 at the plate with two runs scored in support of Lilly Long. Long pitched all seven innings in the circle and posted 12 strikeouts permitting just one run on four hits and two walks.

Milford 13, Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 3. Abby Storm (2-4, three RBI), Kami Muehling (2-4, two RBI, four runs) and Addison Lucht (2-3, four RBI, two runs) led the Bearcats in their nonconference win.

Unity 9, Villa Grove 2. Lindy Bates shined in the circle and at the plate in the win for the Rockets with Bates launching two home runs and finishing 4 for 5 with three runs scored and three RBI. Bates also earned the win after working around eight hits by striking out five with both runs for the Blue Devils unearned. Sophia Beckett had two homers as part of a four-RBI game, as well.

Watseka 9, Salt Fork 7. Brianna Denault smacked a grand slam as part of a five-RBI, two-hit game for the Warriors, who also received a big game from Sarah Parsons (three hits, two runs). Alexa Jameson was 2 for 4 with four RBI in the loss for the Storm.

Westville 4, St. Joseph-Odgen 2. Abby Sabalaskey was steady in the circle for Westville and Laney Cook tallied a team-high two hits while adding one RBI. Lani Gondzur and Lilly Kiesel added extra-base hits for the Tigers with one double apiece in the win.
