BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Four people are being charged in connection with a fight and a disturbance at Jinks Middle School.

The School Resource Deputy (SRD) responded to a fight between two students, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The deputy arrested the person he considered to be the aggressor and led her out to his vehicle.

Apparently, another student phoned the girl’s mother, who showed up with a baby in her arms and additional juvenile family members. The family allegedly confronted the school resource deputy and another deputy who was assisting. They reportedly jumped on the school deputy as he was putting the student into his vehicle. The SRD radioed for help and 12 BCSO deputies and Panama City Police officers responded, according to a news release.

Authorities arrested Phyllisia Causey for battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and resisting without violence.

13-year-old Jewel Moore is charged with disruption of a school function and resisting with violence.

The two other 16-year-olds are being charged with trespassing on school property, a misdemeanor.

The child was taken to the Department of Children and Families, and then to another family member.
