Initially, a warm south wind will bring in warmer temperatures for the eastern half of the area this afternoon, but an approaching cold front will create the set-up for a wide range in temperatures by midday. The northwestern corner of the area may be in the 30s this afternoon in comparison with all of our temperatures dropping by this evening.

We will clear out for a bit of sunshine during the day today, and as the front moves in, there may be a slight chance for a couple thunderstorms in our eastern counties. However, we’ll be watching the colder air rushing in at the same time in our western counties, and it’s not out of the question that we could see some light snow showers trying to move in to the area from the west to the east overnight and into early tomorrow. Not much is expected, but we could see up to an inch on grassy surfaces, especially to the west.

Highs get a bit cooler, in the 40s and 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday, with lows in the lower 20s. Wind chills early Tuesday will likely be in the teens with gusty northwest winds. However, we do appear to rebound back into the 60s by Thursday. We will see even warmer weather by the end of the week with highs in the 70s likely.

The upcoming weekend looks rather pleasant, as well. Highs on Saturday look to make it into the 70s, and by Sunday we may see a bit of cloud cover keeping us in the mid-upper 60s. Rain chances look pretty slim through this time.
