Firefighters battle 4-alarm fire at historic mansion in Dunbarton
Firefighters battled a four-alarm fire at a historic mansion in Dunbarton on Thursday night.
The fire was at the historic Stark Mansion on Mansion Road, which was once owned by Caleb Stark, son of Revolutionary War Gen. John Stark.
The Dunbarton fire Chief John Wiggin told News 9 that nine people lived in the house and that two had smoke inhalation issues but everyone is OK.

Two people were helped out by firefighters and seven self-evacuated, authorities said.
A neighbor reported seeing flames coming from 250 Mansion Road. The fire started in the barn and spread to the garage and the house, all of which are connected.
"Luckily, the main bulk of the fire was in the rear of the building and we were able to save the front of the building. A lot of mutual aid came in to help us, which was great," Wiggin said.
According to town property records, the home was built in 1785.
Dunbarton police asked people to avoid Mansion Road in the area of Stark Lane. The road is closed and police are on the scene to redirect traffic, police said.
