Both mothers have been charged after two unattended toddlers were hit by a vehicle March 20 in High Point.
Naima Naz, 33, and Alyssa Ismail, 23, were each charged with felony child neglect, serious bodily injury, according to arrest records.
The driver of the vehicle was traveling west about 5:40 p.m. on Model Farm Road when two toddlers "were wandering and darted into the road," an accident report says. The crash happened near Francis Street.
One toddler suffered severe head trauma and the other had abrasions to his right hip and buttocks, according to the accident report. Both were taken to Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem.
The driver was not charged.
Naz was released under a $50,000 and scheduled for an April 26 court appearance. Ismail was given a $15,000 bond and is set to appear in court on April 22.
