CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) -- The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) has broken the previous passenger record from February 2020.
The number of passengers have increased by 8% in 2024 compared to the same time period last year.
The total number of passengers for the month of February was marked at 118,454, which is 1.4% higher than in February of 2020.Â
CID Director Marty Lenss says the airport saw a busy spring break travel season and airport officials believe March will also be record-setting month.
Lenss said in a press release, "We see the airlines continue to invest in CID by providing more seats in the market and passengers around Eastern Iowa are responding."
The total number of departure seats that are available for March is 82,682, which is 11% higher than the number of seats that were available in March of 2023.Â
