An Alton man has been charged with two robberies at the In and Out Package Liquor store in Alton earlier this month, along with charges related to contact with police in Venice the night of the first robbery. 31-year-old Johnathan North was charged Monday with two counts of armed robbery, aggravated unlawful use of weapons aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police.
Charges in Madison County allege North used a weapon in the robbery of the liquor store on Ridge Street in Alton on March 1st and March 18th. On March 2, North was contacted by police in Venice where he allegedly fled from a traffic stop. North was ordered by a judge to be held without bond until his first court appearance.
