Northbound Interstate 17 reopens in Phoenix after collision in which car hit DPS vehicle

Northbound Interstate 17 reopened after a crash at Union Hills Drive on Friday morning, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

Bart Graves, a spokesperson with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, said a trooper was investigating a previous collision when another car struck his patrol vehicle.

"The trooper was not injured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution," Graves said. "Two people in the at fault vehicle were also transported for non-life-threatening injuries."
