HONOLULU (Island News) -- There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Vanuatu Islands region.
The earthquake occurred at 3:28 p.m. HST Tuesday, March 26.

HONOLULU (Island News) -- There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Vanuatu Islands region.
The earthquake occurred at 3:28 p.m. HST Tuesday, March 26.
“Based on all available data a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is NO tsunami threat to Hawaii,” the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency stated.
So far there have been no reports of damage or injuries related to this earthquake. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) listed this earthquake as a 6.7 magnitude.
According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes of magnitudes of 4.0 and greater.
