Two individuals have recently been arrested and charged in connection to the seizure of a firearm, along with a quantity of drugs. The items were seized by police from a vehicle in the Rural Municipality of St. Clements.

Selkirk RCMP recently received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Highway 204, just East of Ferry Road, in the RM of St. Clements. It was reported a male and female were with the vehicle which was parked on the side of the road.

Officers attended and located both individuals. Further investigation led officers to determine the vehicle was unregistered.

Police say that a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a handgun, ammunition, weapons, cash, leg shackles, 13 grams of cocaine, prescription medication and other drug paraphernalia.

RCMP report that 33-year-old Kyle Clarke and 45-year-old Lisa Haywood, both of Winnipeg, were charged with numerous offences related to this incident, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
