Police ops on to trace abducted construction firm manager in Garo Hills
Shillong: Meghalaya Police has launched a massive combing operation to locate and rescue the manager of a construction company, who was abducted in the wee hours of Wednesday from the project site in Karukol Siju area of South Garo Hills district.
While the combing operation is being carried out across the region, police have also set up road blocks to frisk vehicles and travellers.

The abducted person has been identified as 50-year-old Akhilesh Singh Chauhan, a native of Lucknow, who was working with the private construction company on a bridge on NH-217.
The incident took place around 1.30am on Wednesday when the construction workers and team of RK Singh Construction Company were asleep in the camp at Rongdik village in Karukol where a bridge is being constructed in an area falling under the jurisdiction of the Siju Police Station.
According to reports, unidentified men came to the camp and asked for diesel on the pretext that their vehicle had run out of fuel.
