Ahead of the three bank holidays in May, Reading residents are advised of changes to bin collection days.

Monday, May 1, Monday May 8 and Monday, May 29 are bank holidays this year so will have an impact on the waste and recycling collection dates.

Collections will take place one day after the original date with final collections of the week taking place on Saturday.

 

Week beginning Monday, May 1

Monday, May 1 will be collected on Tuesday, May 2

Tuesday, May 2 will be collected on Wednesday, May 3

Wednesday, May 3 will be collected on Thursday, May 4

Thursday, May 4 will be collected on Friday, May 5

Friday, May 5 will be collected on Saturday, May 6

 

Week beginning Monday, May 8

Monday, May 8 will be collected on Tuesday, May 9

Tuesday, May 9 will be collected on Wednesday, May 10

Wednesday, May 10 will be collected on Thursday, May 11

Thursday, May 11 will be collected on Friday, May 12

Friday, May 12 will be collected on Saturday, May 13

 

Week beginning Monday, May 29

Monday, May 29 will be collected on Tuesday, May 30

Tuesday, May 30 will be collected on Wednesday, May 31

Wednesday, May 31 will be collected on Thursday, June 1

Thursday, June 1 will be collected on Friday, June 2

Friday, June2 will be collected on Saturday, June 3

 

Reading Borough Council say: “We are confident that our plans will be able to cope with the unusually high number of bank holidays in May, however if your bin has not been picked up on the revised date for any reason, then please do report it at www.reading.gov.uk/missedbin.”

The changes apply to all waste and recycling collections including food recycling collections and garden waste.
