CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — One lucky West Virginia lottery player is $50,000 richer after buying a ticket at Max’s on Chesterfield Avenue in Charleston.

According to the West Virginia Lottery, the person — who is being asked to sign the back and call the West Virginia Lottery — matched four numbers plus the Power Ball. They say the Powerplay option was not purchased.

This once in a lifetime win was a shock to everyone.

“I didn’t know that somebody won until this morning when somebody texted me this morning and said ‘somebody won a ticket,’ and I look on the news, lottery, and it say ‘somebody won $50,000 from us,'” Max’s Place owner Max Namsupak said.

The lucky customer bought the winning ticket from Max’s Place earlier this week, Namsupak said, though nobody knows their identity. Namsupak said years ago, another customer won $100,000 from his business.

Namsupak said it always makes an impact on him when any of his customers win.

“It feels real good, it feels great. Everybody happy and a lot of people texted me ‘who’s the winner?’ ‘who’s the winner?’ We don’t know. They all called ‘did you know anybody that win?’ No we don’t. I think it’s a random ticket because the numbers that are coming out are big numbers,” Namsupak said.

Wednesday’s winner numbers were 37, 46, 57, 60, and 66 and the Power Ball was 8. If you matched those numbers, call the West Virginia Lottery at 304-558-0500.

Tickets for Saturday’s drawing must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. on Saturday.
