Lawrence Township Police are investigating the cause of a fatal crash that happened early Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash on Brunswick Pike at the Whitehead Road circle around 1:43 a.m., according to a press release.
A 2003 Suzuki Vitara had sustained heavy damage after striking a utility pole. A passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Jean Pierre, 50, of Trenton was in the front seat of the vehicle and died at the scene of the crash.
The driver was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital with “non-fatal injuries,” police said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by Lawrence Township Police Det. James Steimle and Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team Det. Ryan Minnick.
