UConn women’s basketball team heads to Oregon

STORRS, CT (WFSB) - The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team is preparing to head to the west coast.

UConn’s athletics department held a sendoff ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

It asked fans to gather at the Jonathan statue on the Storrs campus at 12:30 p.m.

“Send off the women’s basketball team to the rest of the NCAA Tournament [Wednesday], March 27, at 12:30 p.m. at the Jonathan Statue. Go Huskies!” the department sent out.

UConn is set to play Duke at the Moda Center in Portland in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

The game was scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

It will be broadcast on ESPN.
