All ages are invited to participate in Happy Dancing Turtle’s Spring Bingo Scavenger Hunt. The challenge is to take photos of items listed on the bingo card, then submit them online or via email. Join this no-cost adventure any time after April 1, and submit all your photos by April 30, 2024. This all-ages activity encourages close observation of our outdoor environment. There are 24 items total, including a gaggle, something pink, and five kinds of trees. The more bingos you find, the more chances you will have to win a bigger prize. Happy Dancing Turtle will also be hosting four nature-based day camps for kids ages pre-K through sixth grade this summer. These weeklong Eco Camps will take place at the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge in Trempealeau.

Eco Campers learn about environmental topics through activities, games, crafts, stories, outdoor exploration, play, and a whole lot of fun. “The Driftless Region boasts a unique geography and nature. Being able to learn about that through hands-on exploration is amazing. Camps are structured to fully engage the campers in age- appropriate activities,” said camp director Nora Woodworth. Each session has a maximum of 15 campers.

The dates are as follows: grades 1 and 2 June 10-14 (fully booked); grades 3 and 4 June 24-28; grades 5 and 6 July 15-19; pre-K and kindergarten July 29-Aug 2. The camp sessions for grades 1-6 run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for pre-K and kindergarten.
