Al Allaberg: Pennsylvania man fatally shoots his ex-wife multiple times in chest before killing himself in apparent murder-suicide
MORELAND TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA: According to the authorities, a man in Pennsylvania shot and killed his ex-wife, leaving their two small children without a parent.
Al Allaberg, 44, shot and killed his ex-wife Durdona Sultanova, 43, at a home in southeast Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 16, 2024, according to a joint press release from Lower Moreland Township Police Chief David J Scirrotto and Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R Steele.
Durdona Sultanova died of multiple gunshots
Around 4:30 pm, according to Lower Moreland Police, "Two young residents of the home" called 911. The bodies of Sultanova and Allaberg were discovered in a walk-in closet of the master bedroom when police arrived on the scene.
Sultanova died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, while Allaberg died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to an autopsy done on the bodies on Sunday, March 17, PEOPLE reported.
The cause of death for both Sultanova and Allaberg were reported to be murder and suicide, respectively. On behalf of Sultanova's sister Malika Sultanova, her family friend Lilia Tamkovitch created a GoFundMe page to collect money for the burial as well as for her two children.
“Durdona was a lovely, kind, and beautiful woman who was unfortunately taken from us too soon,” Tamkovitch wrote. “Many know Durdona for her generosity, kindness, and open heart who has helped many.”
“She leaves behind two young children who are also left without a father,” she continued. The GoFundMe for the family had almost $50,000, as of Thursday, March 21.
“Thank you for your generosity and care for the kids during this unexplainably difficult time,” Tamkovitch added on the GoFundMe. “Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
Internet sad for the victim's two children
As soon as the news of Durdona Sultanova's killing spread on social media, the internet started to feel sympathetic toward her children.
One social media user wrote, "Poor kids Now they have to live a life with Mental trauma that his father create and no mother !"
One individual added, "If there is any good in this at least he did not kill the kids. Let them live their life."
A few users raised concerns about increasing crime rates in the country. One person wrote, "Sad but I have been seeing a lot of this happening all over the United States...just yesterday I seen where a men killed his ex and a friend then himself....there 2 children's are without their parents."
"We had a shooting in the next town over this past weekend. Guy shot his fiance 5 times (shes still in critical condition atm) and he shot himself. Idk if they had kids but these tragedies have to stop," another user added.
