Real Estate in This North Carolina City Is Booming. Potential Sellers Should Take Note.
Buyers pining for carefree, coastal living in Wilmington, North Carolina, are finding that it’s getting harder to find a luxury home there, not to mention one at the right price point—and that’s giving sellers the upper hand.
Luxury homes in the Wilmington metro area were selling six weeks faster in December than they were a year ago, according to the most recent luxury data from Realtor.com, signaling that conditions are favorable for sellers looking to cash in on an opportunity.

“Prices are high, inventory is low, time on market is quick. So it’s a good time to be a seller in a market like Wilmington,” said Hannah Jones, senior economic research analyst for Realtor.com.

Home Flipping Is Soaring in Calgary
Homes are being resold in Calgary, Canada, at a blazing pace. House flipping has surged to the highest level of any major metropolitan area in the country, according to data from the Bank of Canada. Statistics show 6.5% of homes sold in the Calgary metropolitan area were resold within 12 months. That’s the highest level in any major city at any point since at least 2014, which is as far back as the bank’s public-facing data goes. CBC
New Waterfront Luxury Condo to Rise in Fort Lauderdale
A luxury condo will replace a 1950s waterfront co-op building along the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. PMG, a developer based in New York and Miami, is behind the project, called Sage Intracoastal Residences, an 18-story, 44-unit tower. Australian fashion designer Camilla Franks is putting her colorful, eclectic home in Sydney’s affluent Woollahra suburb on the market for A$8 million (US$5.29 million). The four-bedroom, three-bathroom Victorian-style house, with its layered, richly hued patterns and trove of art and collected treasures, is a reflection of Franks’s design style. Rents Down in Los Angeles Compared to a Year Ago
The average rent has dropped in Los Angeles County by 3.9% compared to a year ago, according to a report by ApartmentList.com. Despite this decline, renters in L.A. County say the decrease is not enough. The median rental price for a one-bedroom apartment stands at $1,844.
