Chiefs trading L’Jarius Sneed to Titans in NFL bombshell

L’Jarius Sneed is on the move after all.

The Chiefs are finalizing a trade on Friday to send the cornerback to the Titans, according to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Kansas City, which had previously placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Sneed earlier this offseason, is expected to land a 2025 third-round pick in return, as well as flipping seventh-round selections with the Chiefs in the 2024 NFL Draft next month in return, according to reports.

According to The Athletic, the two sides previously had the framework for a Sneed trade, but he and the Titans could not come to an agreement on a long-term contract.

Now, according to Schefter, Sneed will be signing a new deal with Tennessee.

It’s unclear what the terms of the contract are.

The trade will save the Chiefs $19.8 million against the salary cap.

A fourth-round pick in 2020, Sneed, 27, had multiple interceptions in each of his four seasons, having hit 10 for his career this past season.

Sneed also has 6.5 sacks in his career.

According to Pro Football Focus, he graded out at 71.1 this season.

It has been a busy offseason for the Titans, who also added another corner in Chidobe Awuzie among a slew of moves.
