NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Documents obtained by News13 give new details about the investigation into the killing of a Georgia woman who was last seen at a North Myrtle Beach resort in September.

Bornold Eberhart, 42, also of Georgia, faces a murder charge in the death of Kristin Laymon, 53. He remains in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where he was booked following his arrest on March 8.

North Myrtle Beach detectives verified that Laymon had come to the city on Sept. 22 and was with Eberhart. The department’s investigation revealed that Laymon and Eberhart got into an argument in the early morning of Sept. 23. She was last seen alive entering an elevator at 2:12 a.m. that day.

A North Myrtle Beach police report showed that her daughter told officers that Laymon had received a speeding ticket in Marion County on Sept. 22. Her daughter also checked her mother’s email to see she’d booked a stay at Club Wyndham for Sept. 22-24.

The police report was filed on Nov. 7, which was the court date for Laymon’s speeding ticket, about a month after her daughter reported her missing out of Duluth, Georgia, on Oct. 9. Her daughter did not think she was in any danger, but said that it was unusual for Laymon to not tell her where she was.

Laymon’s daughter attended her court date in hopes of seeing her mother, who didn’t show up. Laymon’s daughter then went to Club Wyndham, according to the report. She learned that Laymon and Eberhart checked into the resort on Sept. 22 at about 1 p.m. before checking out at about 11 a.m. on Sept. 24.

Laymon’s daughter told North Myrtle Beach police that her mother and Eberhart were in a rental car for the trip, but that it was returned in College Park, Georgia, after 10 p.m. on Sept. 24, the report said. Detectives think Eberhart left North Myrtle Beach with Laymon’s body in the vehicle.

Police previously said that Laymon and Eberhart were not dating, but that they had some kind of intimate relationship.

On March 9, Dekalb County authorities found what is believed to be Laymon’s body in the 1800 block of Whitehall Forest Court. Police said they were waiting for the medical examiner to identify the body.

Documents show Eberhart’s initial court date is set for 1 p.m. on April 12 at the Horry County Judicial Center.
