CC2640R2F: RSSI signal strength issue.

I am using Bluetooth 5.1 Ti stack for my device cc2640r2f. I am facing an issue for RSSI signal value. RSSI signal strength is very lower than expected. We are getting -51db strength when scanning from third party android BLE Scanner application but at the same distance we are recording -91db strength when debugging cc2640r2f device. Please reply for possible solutions to issue. let me know if any documents are useful for me to debug issue.

Do you mean you see low RSSI when using cc2640r2f as central role to scan device? Do you use LAUNCHXL_CC2640R2F to test this or use your own custom board?

Yes sir we are testing RSSI signal strength with our custom boards. And we have encountered this issue after changes in ble_user_config.h file for MAX_PDU_SIZE of 27 to 88 for increasing payload size of connection. Do you think this changes may be possible cause of decreased range?

No, I don't think revising MAX_PDU_SIZE would cause such issue. This seems more related to your custom board RF design and I would suggest you to use SmartRF Studio to do PER test to confirm your RF design first.

I agree with YiKai, it would be a good idea to compare RF performance against a LAUNCHXL_CC2640R2F with both your application and SMARTRFTM-STUDIO.

You can also submit board files to SIMPLELINK-2-4GHZ-DESIGN-REVIEWS if you have any concerns/doubts about the design.
