TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new program is bringing cookies and new friends to the community.

Delicious cookies from Bites and Blessings, delivered by some new friends, Grace Drops is a program founded at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and funded by a grant through the Lily Foundation.

The program focuses on bringing together disabled individuals to deliver cookies and drinks on Thursdays to businesses in the Wabash Valley.

Jess Berryhill is the Ministry Coordinator for the program and understands how important building a program like this can be for our community.

“Grace Drops is an opportunity for our individuals with disabilities to go out in the community to drop cookies and drinks, and give a high five to businesses and organizations, and then likewise, the businesses and organizations get an interaction that’s positive and uplifting from a person with a disability,” Berryhill said.

The goal of the program is to eventually create drops on request so that businesses would hire the Grace Drops teams for special days at local establishments to uplift employees and staff.

This program would provide people with disabilities with the opportunity to take on a job each week.
