Now that East Austin is going big-city in earnest near downtown, it's time to dive into the areas farther out on the east side that are booming from Elon Musk's empire and the current industrial revolution.
The "eastern crescent," as it's called, will be the subject of the Austin Business Journal's next growth summit. Get details on the April 18 event here.
We'll show off aerial videos of the new Tesla, Boring Co. and SpaceX sites, and we'll hover over some other properties primed for huge changes. After some of the bigger projects and trends shaping the area are discussed, a panel of experts will touch on some of the business opportunities and challenges that come along with the metro’s final frontier.
This year's panelists are:
• Longtime East Austin developer Pete Dwyer, who continues to transform thousands of acres in the area;
• Del Valle ISD Superintendent Annette Tielle, who is on the forefront of badly needed workforce development;
• DeLea Becker of Beck-Reit Commercial Real Estate — known as the "queen of East Austin";
• and Davis Bass of HPI Real Estate Services & Investments, who is known for leasing more industrial space in the region than any other broker.
Before and after the presentation, there is the opportunity to network with many of Austin’s business and civic leaders.
The 2024 East Austin Growth Summit is part of ABJ's growth summit series. Later this year, the Austin-San Antonio Growth Summit and the Williamson County Growth Summit will cover activity in other parts of the region.
The East Austin Growth Summit will take place this year at Circuit of The Americas.
