Karsen Rezac was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison after pleading no contest to second-degree murder in the Dec. 2022 shooting that killed Kupo Mleya.
According to the affidavit, Rezac told Lincoln Police investigators he was backing out of his driveway at his apartment near 20th and Washington streets when another vehicle hit him. He said the vehicle "gunned it" and "slammed" into his 2000 GMC Yukon.
Rezac said he had a handgun in his center console and "freaked out," firing six shots toward the other driver. He then drove away.
