A BUCKS COUNTY MAN IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED CRUELTY TO ANIMALS IN LANCASTER COUNTY, WEST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, POLICE SAY 56 YEAR-OLD RICHARD SWINGLER HAS BEEN LIVING IN THE TOWNSHIP FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, CAUSED SEVERE FACIAL INJURIES TO A SMALL CAT, INCLUDING RIPPING THE SKIN OFF THE CAT’S CHIN.

A Bucks County man is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals in Lancaster County.Police said 56-year-old Richard Swangler, who has been living in West Hempfield Township for several months, caused severe facial injuries to a small cat – including ripping the skin off the cat's chin.Officers were called to a home on West Broad Street on March 3 for a man reporting a wild animal, which he believed to be a jaguar, inside his home.They found Swangler with scratch and bite marks on his arms, but no wild animal was located.A search of the home revealed the injured cat, officers said.According to police, the cat was taken to a vet and is expected to make a full recovery.
