It’s safe to say that Alexis Mac Allister has been a ten out of ten signing for Liverpool.

The 25-year-old felt like a bargain when he was signed for just £35m from Brighton last summer. In the months since, Mac Allister has even gone on to enhance that feeling.

The word around Liverpool is said to be that they think they’ve signed a world-beater. And over the past few months, Mac Allister has shown that to potentially be true.

Part of the Argentine’s brilliance is his game intelligence. But according to the man himself, he’s also doing something that every aspiring superstar of the game should do: listen to Mohamed Salah.

Alexis Mac Allister reveals Mo Salah talks

Yesterday, we got an interesting look into what makes Mac Allister tick behind the scenes. The World Cup winner allowed the LFCTV cameras into his home for a day as we saw ‘A Day With… Alexis Mac Allister.’

During his sit down chat with presenter Rubi Deschamps, Liverpool’s No.10 touched on why he’d been spotted wearing shorts during the Reds’ training session on a cold January day.

“Why did you choose to wear shorts?!” Deschamps questioned. “You were the only person.”

“When I was at Brighton I used to wear trousers (for training),” Mac Allister explained. “Then I came here and I remember against Sheffield [United], we went out to do the warm up and I was wearing a hat and trousers and Mo Salah told me ‘what are you doing?! Why do you wear that?!’ So, since that day I never wore trousers again. Only because of Mo!”

Later in the video, we get an even clearer indication as to why Alexis is now accustomed to wearing summer clothing during the coldest winter months.

“I’m a Scouser now!” proclaims Mac Allister as he wanders to his car in a short-sleeved t-shirt. Is right, Alexis.

Mac Allister embraces Liverpool culture

You’ve got to love Mac Allister. Everything about his demeanour on and off the pitch since signing in the summer suggests that he loves being a Liverpool player.

And judging by just how quickly he’s adapted to the demands of being at a top club, he was made to play at that level.

You don’t want to get ahead of yourself, but Mac Allister has the feeling of someone who could stay at the club for years and years. Already a leader on the pitch, the Argentina international is set to be a big part of the new manager’s plans.

One thing’s for sure anyway – when Salah speaks, you listen. Mac Allister has learnt that quickly and will be all the better for it.
