Inside youthful transformation of Kris Jenner's late sister Karen Houghton before she died aged 65

Kris Jenner's younger sister Karen Houghton underwent a huge facial transformation that gave back a youthful appearance before her sudden death aged 65.

Karen was three years younger than Kris and the two girls grew up together with their mother Mary Jo Campbell, 89. The sisters had a rollercoaster relationship, but despite their fallouts, Karen looked up to her elder sister and underwent a transformation in a bid to look more like her glamorous older sister.

In 2016 Karen opted for a gruelling five-hour face lift which she allowed to be filmed as she wanted to 'look like my beautiful sister Kris.'

Karen let the procedure be filmed as she told her surgeon: "Certain angles of my face were just not what I wanted. No one wants a double chin." She also added that she felt pressure to look good with The Kardashians in the family as she added: "Of course the Kardashians – everyone wants to look beautiful." After the results of her five-hour procedure were revealed, a delighted Karen shared: "I look like my beautiful sister, Kris, and I never thought I would."

Karen also revealed her older sister Kim was no stranger to plastic surgery and the surgeon's knife, as in 2013 she told In Touch magazine that Kris had spent $1 million in her efforts to look younger. Speaking to In Touch magazine: "She was heavy as a kid and became worried about her looks at age 15. The whole world knows it – Kris is vain."

Speculation has been rife over what caused the younger sister of Kris and aunt of her famous daughters to unexpectedly die, but for now, officials are attributing to natural causes. A call for medical help was placed to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department at around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Kris announced on Tuesday that with the "heaviest heart" that her "beautiful" younger sister has died. Taking to Instagram Kris shared: "It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly. My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time."

"Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny," the tribute continued, "She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter. She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together."

She ended the post with: "Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister."
