LUBBOCK, TexasHindman Ready Built Homes has been serving West Texas, Permian Basin and the Panhandle since 1967.

“We build what’s called a ready-built homes,” said Vice President of Hindman Ready Built Homes, Mike Hindman. “We build them here, complete them, move them all in one piece to their final location.”

When the wildfires broke out in an area they’ve been serving for so long, Hindman said he knew they had to help. The company stepped up, delivering a cabin home with one bedroom and one bathroom, just one week after the fires broke out.

“I mean, it was just devastating; everything we saw up there,” Hindman described. “We’ve worked with one family in particular. We’re able to get them a temporary home up there… something they could live in while we build their new home or finish their new home.”

Bigger homes under construction for Panhandle families have several bedrooms and bathrooms, which Hindman said he hopes can get folks back on their feet faster than other options.

“If they’re trying to get something quick, they’d be relegated to like a mobile home,” said Hindman. “We’re able to give them, what I would say, is a real home just pretty quick where they were originally living, not having to relocate or any of that.”

Over the next couple of months, as they continue building discounted homes for wildfire victims, Hindman told Everythinglubbock.com he’s grateful to help those who’ve lost everything start rebuilding their lives.

“We’re just happy that we’re able to assist the way we can,” he said.

Hindman also said one of those houses being sent to the Panhandle in a few months will be especially meaningful, as it’s going to be the company’s 700th house to build and deliver.
