Goalkeepers

Anna Moorhouse

Age/Ht: 28/6-1

Citizenship: England

The buzz: Moorhouse took over as the full-time starter last season with mixed results. She was shaky but ultimately delivered as she set the club record for most saves in a season with 72. The starting job is hers to lose, but there is serious competition this season.

Sofia Manner

Age/Ht: 26/6-1

Citizenship: Finland

The buzz: Manner joins Orlando from FC Honka on a two-year contract. She allowed the fewest goals in the league last season and should challenge Moorhouse for the starting job.

McKinley Crone

Age/Ht: 25/ 5-7

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: The Florida native earned her first professional contract with the Pride towards the end of 2023. Crone returns for a second year where playing time is expected to be at a premium, but her effort and abilities make a huge difference on the training pitch. Still, it’s unlikely she will be called into action in 2024.

Defenders

Celia 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Celia

Age/Ht: 28/5-6

Citizenship: Spain

The buzz: Celia was limited to only three starts in 10 appearances in all competitions in 2023. Her role is unlikely to increase, but she is a serviceable option off the bench if called upon.

Carrie Lawrence 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Carrie Lawrence

Age/Ht: 26/5-7

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Lawrence missed the entire 2023 season after tearing her ACL in preseason and there is still no timetable for her return. She is likely to come back at some point in 2024 but will need time to reacclimate herself.

Megan Montefusco 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Megan Montefusco

Age/Ht: 31/5-8

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Montefusco starts the year on the season-ending injury list after undergoing right-foot surgery in the offseason. Her timetable to return is unclear, but she could make her way back before the season ends. She was a key player in 2023 and her leadership on the field will be missed.

Emily Sams 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Emily Sams

Age/Ht: 23/5-7

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Sams led Orlando with 1,977 minutes, playing all but the final three minutes in the NWSL regular season. She remains one of Orlando’s most important players and should only improve in her sophomore season.

Kylie Strom 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Kylie Strom

Age/Ht: 31/5-8

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Strom enters her fourth season with Orlando fresh off signing a three-year contract. The fullback started all 22 NWSL games last year and is a lock at left back.

Brianna Martinez

Age/Ht: 23/5-6

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: The 17th overall draft pick in 2023 only made eight NWSL appearances last season and figures to remain a depth option for Orlando. If she improves in her sophomore season she should see more playing time, but she is unlikely to challenge for a starting role.

Rafaelle

Age/Ht: 32/5-9

Citizenship: Brazil

The buzz: Signed in July, the Brazilian was limited to only seven appearances. She is set to be a key figure as a part of a strong Brazilian core. Her defensive prowess combined with her ability to join in on the attack makes her a versatile and important defender for the Pride.

Kerry Abello 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Kerry Abello

Age/Ht: 24/5-5

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: She can play in defense, midfield or attack, Abello appeared in 20 matches in 2023. That versatility earned her a new deal that keeps her with Orlando through the 2026 season and she is expected to continue to earn valuable playing time in her third season with the Pride.

Cori Dyke

Age/Ht: 23/5-6

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Dyke was the 22nd overall pick in this year’s draft out of Penn State. The versatile defender was a key cog in a defense that was the best in the Big Ten conference in 2023. Her game is expected to translate well at the professional level and her ability to quickly adapt will determine what happens next.

Midfielder

Haley McCutcheon 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Haley McCutcheon

Age/Ht: 28/5-6

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: McCutcheon signed a new three-year deal in the offseason, securing her future as a key member of the Pride. An ever-present player, she started all 22 games in 2023 and will continue to be an important part of the roster in 2024.

Angelina 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Angelina

Age/Ht: 24/5-3

The buzz: Angelina joins Orlando on a three-year contract after spending the previous three seasons playing for OL Reign. She is a dynamic player with plenty of upside who will continue to develop with the Pride.

Evelina Duljan

The buzz: She joins Orlando after spending last season with Juventus in Italy. She’s an attack-minded midfielder who should continue to develop and earn valuable playing time as the season unfolds.

Morgan Gautrat 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Morgan Gautrat

Age/Ht: 31/5-7

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Orlando acquired the two-time Women’s World Cup champion via trade with the Kansas City Current. Her experience at the club and international levels are an important addition to a roster that struggled in key moments last season. She will provide leadership and experience that can help the Pride make the postseason for the first time since 2017.

Luana 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Luana

Age/Ht: 30/5-5

Citizenship: Brazil

The buzz: A new addition who elevates the quality in midfield. She arrives from Corinthians in Brazil having made 42 appearances for the club and played in the 2019 and ’23 World Cups. Her experience and ability as well as her on-field relationships with the other Brazilian players on the squad will be vital.

Ally Lemos 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Ally Lemos

Age/Ht: 20/5-7

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: The ninth overall draft pick in 2024, Lemos is not expected to play right away and will be given time to develop. She helped lead UCLA to the NCAA championship in 2022 and her maturity and soccer IQ should make her transition to the professional level easier without the added pressure of needing to start right away.

Viviana Villacorta

Age/Ht: 25/5-7

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Villacorta appeared in 16 games before tearing her ACL in September. She starts the season on the season-ending injury list with no timetable for her return.

Forwards

Marta

Age/Ht: 38/5-4

Citizenship: Brazil

The buzz: The legend captains the Pride in her eighth season here. She made 18 appearances last year and will continue to play a key role on the field. A constant, Marta remains as important as ever in her 24th season as a professional.

Julie Doyle

The buzz: In her second season, she scored twice and added 3 assists in 16 NWSL appearances. She remains a key depth piece with the ability to contribute off the bench when required.

Adriana

Age/Ht: 27/5-5

Citizenship: Brazil

The buzz: Adriana tied for the team lead with 6 goals in NWSL play. She provided 4 assists in her 19 appearances and will look to improve both tallies amidst fierce competition.

Ally Watt

Age/Ht: 27/5-8

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Mainly serving as an option off the bench, Watt’s speed and ability to break through tired legs late in games is vital. She did not light up the stat sheet, only scoring once and providing an assist in her 19 appearances, but her ability to stretch the defense allows other players the freedom to attack the open space.

Summer Yates

Age/Ht: 23/5-4

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Yates only played 108 minutes across 10 games but looked comfortable in limited playing time. She has the ability to contribute, but increased competition means her playing time is unlikely to see an extreme increase in 2024.

Amanda Allen

Age/Ht: 19/5-4

Citizenship: Canada

The buzz: Allen signed in April and made six appearances across all competitions. Yet to score her first goal with Orlando, the teenager should continue to develop and earn more playing time in 2024.

Mariana Larroquette 2024 (Orlando Pride)

Mariana Larroquette

Age/Ht: 31/5-5

Citizenship: Argentina

The buzz: Signed after the 2023 World Cup, Larroquette was limited to five appearances and only 85 minutes in scoring 1 goal. She’s an excellent scoring option off the bench and will have more opportunities to show her quality.

Simone Charley

Age/Ht: 29/5-9

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: Charley joins Orlando after playing for Angel City the last two seasons. With 11 goals in 70 career NWSL appearances, she’s another depth piece for a team aiming to be a serious threat.

Barbra Banda

Age/Ht: 23/5-10

Citizenship: Zambia

The buzz: She could be the missing piece. Banda joins the Pride from Chinese side Shanghai Shengli where she scored 41 goals in 52 games. She was the first player in Olympic history to score hat tricks in back-to-back games, a feat she achieved against the Netherlands and China in 2021. Her scoring prowess makes her an immediate threat to provide plenty of goals for Orlando.

Alex Kerr

Age/Ht: 22/5-9

Citizenship: United States

The buzz: The late-round 2024 draft pick was a bit of a surprise signing for Orlando. The Pride have a history of turning late picks into first-team players and Kerr could be next in line. She scored 11 goals and added 5 assists in 23 starts last season at Texas Tech and her ability to take on defenders should translate well to the professional game. She also is able to play midfield, versatility this club values.

Coach

Seb Hines

Age/Ht: 35/6-2

Citizenship: England

The buzz: Hines enters his second full season in charge aiming to take this team to the next level. He has shown his ability to bring players together, but now he needs to show how well he can blend young talent with experienced veterans and make a serious postseason push after the team barely missed out on the playoffs in 2023.
