Bullocks (834) and heifers (712) averaged 306.90p per kg and 294.90p respectively at United Auctions' store cattle sale.

Limousin crosses from Holehouse, led the bullock trade at 387.10p and £2060 for entries weighing 363kg and 720kg respectively.

Heifers sold to 397.40p for a 307kg Simmental cross from Auch Estate, and to £1895 for a 724kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Garrochtrie.

Young bulls (29) cashed in at 243.14p having sold to 299.30p for a Beef Shorthorn cross from Knollhead, and to £1590 for an Aberdeen-Angus cross from Knockallan.

Also forward were 1251 store and feeding sheep, which sold to £158 for Texels from Muirpark.

On Monday, the firm also sold 818 breeding sheep and grit ewes to a top of £192 for Lleyn gimmers from Threepwood.

An overall average of £1340.81 was achieved at Harrison and Hetherington's weekly store cattle sale.

A red roan Limousin heifer consigned by Tom Fisher, Smalmstown, Longtown led the trade at £2000.

British Friesian bullocks made £1970 for Messrs Smith, Campingholm, Gretna.

Weaned cattle sold to £1450 on two occasions, both for Limousin bulls from Messrs Reid, Kirkburn.

Limousins also led the bullocks and heifers at £1390 from Messrs Bird, High Wreay, and to £1320 from Messrs Wharton, Highfield, Appleby, respectively.

The weekly sale of calves reached £590 for a British Blue bull calf from Messrs Wadsworth, Big Balcraig.

The same breed also led the heifers at £580 for Messrs Simpson, Waingatehead.

A total of 600 ewes and lambs were forward to meet an overall sale average of £118.45.

Topping the sale was a Dutch Spotted gimmer with twins which achieved £350 a life.

A buoyant demand was met for store cattle at Craig Wilson's sale, where 367 bullocks averaged 296.5p per kg and 220 heifers cashed in at 285.4p.

A top price of £1910 was paid for British Blue bullocks from Barmoorhill, and to 374p for Simmentals off Dalhanna.

Heifers peaked at £1880 for a Limousin from Skeldon Drive, and to 329p for Charolais from Millenderdale.

Store hoggs reached £148 for Lleyns from J Gibb, Threepwood, with the same home topping the in lamb sheep at £151.

Ewes with lambs at foot sold to £98 per life for M Connell, Balig.

On Tuesday, the firm sold six dairy cattle to a top of £2000 for a Holstein Friesian heifer from Messrs Telfer, High Branchal.

Among the 111 calves and stirks trade peaked at £800 for Black and White bullock stirks from Messrs Templeton, Carslae, with heifers making £830 for British Blue cross heifers from Messrs Forsyth, Isle.

On Monday, Wallets Marts sold 348 store cattle to a high of £1810 for Charolais heifers from Gelston Castle, and to 329p per kg for Limousins from Little Larg.

Bullocks reached 350.7p for Aberdeen Angus from Messrs Templeton, Glenroan, and then achieved £1740 on two occasions for more of the same breed and Limousins from Irelandton and Shangan respectively.

Some 276 store hoggs sold to £178 for Texels from Messrs Peacock, Tower, having cashed in at £121.86.
