Video shows retired cop shooting machete-wielding man in Staten Island road-rage feud

Tense video captures the moment a retired NYPD cop shot and wounded a man who threatened him with a machete during a broad-daylight road rage incident on Staten Island this week.

The brief clip obtained by The Post shows a light-colored SUV with a 45-year-old man behind the wheel whizzing into a parking spot at Vineland Avenue near Grantwood Avenue in Annadale at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

As the 50-year-old ex-cop pulls up in a maroon SUV behind his vehicle, the first driver gets out and runs around the front of his rival’s ride, holding a machete.

The 45-year-old menace flashed a machete before the ex-cop whipped out a gun, police said.
The retired cop opened fire, striking the machete-wielding man in the stomach, cops said.

That’s when the retiree jumps into action, opening his car door as he lets off about three gunshots, the video shows.

As he steps out of his car, he fires a final round, directly at the other motorist, who throws his machete as he falls to the ground.

He can be seen laying in the middle of the street, moaning and grunting in pain – at one point trying to get up before falling back down.

The menace collapsed into the street, moaning in pain, the clip shows.
