OAKLAND — A 28-year-old man fatally shot March 21  inside a motel room was identified by police Tuesday as Martin Millan, of Oakland.

A motive has not yet been determined in the killing and no arrests have been made.

Millan was found dead from at least one gunshot wound about 11:13 p.m. March 21  inside a room at the Nights Inn, 874 West MacArthur Blvd., authorities said.

Police said they were told he  had been staying at the motel about a week.

The person who shot Millan fled before police got to the scene.

A gofundme account  to help cover his funeral expenses has been established by relatives. The narrative asks that those who knew Millan “remember and celebrate his goofy, energetic. easy going, loud and happy life style.”  The account can be accessed at https://www.gofundme.com/f/martin-millan-sica28lkeet.    As of Tuesday afternoon, $2,400 toward a goal of $25,000 had been raised.
