A motorcyclist died Sunday night in a single-vehicle accident in Blount County.
Alabama State Troopers said Johnnie J. Lindsey Jr., a 53-year-old Hayden man, was traveling on Blount County 11 near Skyball Road when the wreck happened at 7:40 p.m. That location is about 11 miles south of Blountsville.
Senior Trooper Cody Farrar said Lindsey’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle left the road, struck a tree, and then struck a fence.
Lindsey was not using a helmet at the time of the crash, Farrar said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The fatal crash remains under investigation by troopers.
