Five local players named All-State teams
Mar. 19—JAMESTOWN — Five Region 1 basketball players have been named to the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association 2023-24 Division B Girls' and Boys' Basketball All-State teams.
Mataeya Mathern from Edgeley/Kulm-Montpelier was named to the first team, and Karleigh Kadoun from Sargent County and Teagan Erbele from Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter were named to the second team.
There were two boys' basketball players from Region 1 to find themselves on the list as LaMoure/Litchville-Marion's Max Musland was a first team selection and Hankinson's Raeshaun Earl was a second team selection.
This season, Mathern averaged 17.6 points, 8.7 rebounds per game, 118 total assists and 128 total steals.
During her sophomore year, Kadoun averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game.
In her senior year, Erbele averaged 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4.6 steals per game.
In his senior year, Musland averaged 25.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.4 assists per game.
In his sophomore season, Earl averaged 25.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.9 steals per game.
