TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Two juveniles were arrested in a shots-fired investigation that started around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Troy Police say the incident occurred in the area of 3rd Street and Jefferson Street.

Police say no victims were struck but a potential intended target was found. The two suspects, 15 and 16-year-old males from Troy, were apprehended approximately 45 minutes after the incident.

Police say the suspects had three loaded handguns and high-capacity magazines. One of the guns is an unserialized, privately-made ghost gun. The 15-year-old had an active bench warrant from the Rensselaer County Court – Youth Part for failing to appear on a firearm possession charge and for an alleged robbery.

The 15-year-old was charged with:

  • Pre-Existing County Court – Youth Part Bench Warrant for Failure To Appear (11/23 Criminal Possession of a Weapon/Robbery)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 2nd Degree (2 Counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 3rd Degree (3 Counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 3rd Degree (1 Count)
  • Attempted Murder – 2nd Degree (3 Counts)

The 16-year-old was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 2nd Degree (2 Counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 3rd Degree (3 Counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 3rd Degree (1 Count)
  • Attempted Murder – 2nd Degree (3 Counts)

The two were brought before a Youth justice system judge and remanded to a youth detention facility. They will reappear in Rensselaer County Court – Youth Part later.

Watervliet Police assisted Troy police, and more information on the suspects will be released later today.
